our friends laurel and kc married this spring. For the first time in a long time we were guests at a wedding! it was funny because we didn't really know what to do with ourselves. kc has always been a big fan of jon's music. he asked jon to play guitar during cocktail hour at their wedding. catherine of calima portaits took over on photo patrol and despite the rain, she did an amazing job on their photos! i brought one camera along just because and snapped a few here and there.
laurel is friend's with two talented brothers josh and caleb hegg. they played a beautiful song for her as she walked down the aisle. toward the end of the night caleb mentioned to jon that he would love to jam. quite suddenly a little music session started with jon on slide, caleb on cello and josh on guitar. considering they had never played together before, we were all quite impressed with their impromptu performance! my favorite tune was their beautiful version of "no woman, no cry". i managed to get most of it on video but my thumb was over the mic for some of it (whoops). i absolutely LOVE caleb's cello solo at about two minutes into the clip. this is why i love weddings! the unexpected, unplanned wonderful moments just like this.....
while the rest of us began rolling tables away, stacking chairs and collecting vases of tulips, the boys continued to play. my friend cory said it reminded her of titanic :)
The location for this wedding is one of our NW favorites! Kitsap Memorial Park.

So awesome--even when you're just shooting "for fun." You are living your dream and it's inspiring! Where was this ceremony/reception? I am totally taken in by the natural and Northwesty elegance of the space.

Absolutely *love* the Bob Marley rendition. That's why having live music vs. a DJ is priceless. Amazing, beautiful, love love love.

These are so beautiful! How lucky are they to have these and the others too. Such special frames, as always.

Looks like it was a fantastic wedding! These photos are wonderful, even if you weren't the official photographers. I love the way you captured the intimacy, warmth and spirit of this special moment.

Oh man, I see some guest appearances happening in the near future with After Zion! Incredible... thanks for being there with me. :) And you rocked those homeade lenses, my friend; way to step in! (oops, I always spell homemade in the same format as lemonade!)
