A Modern Twist
As promised here are more photographs from Kallie and Mike's modern wedding on 7-7-07. Since the wedding was at their home, they had to be very thoughtful and creative while planning the big day. The party was spread out on different decks. The ceremony, reception and dancing all took place on the main deck. Drinks were served up at the bar on the side deck. The cake and toast happened in the backyard. The menu was a spread of tapas, so formal tables were not required for eating. They registered for patio furniture and were able to use their new gifts at the wedding for guest seating. Kallie's mom created a stencil and painted a black runner with graphic white flowers and birds, which complimented the modern theme perfectly. With the help of their friends they built a large metal structure over the main deck. They hung black fabric on it to provide shade and also hung tons of round paper lanterns in the middle to add a warm glow over the deck. It was a tight space for shooting and I was very happy that Jon was brave and clever enough to climb up on the roof to shoot. He got some of the best shots of the day from up there, along with some fiberglass embedded in his skin! Ouch! Although he was a trooper and never complained, he just kept smiling and shooting! Thanks to everyone that made this wedding so special!

GORGEOUS photos. I Love the b&w one, with the bride in front of that funky wall. I'm going to link you on my blog, if that's cool with you.
